One of us is a member of the Gaelic society of the Scottish Episcopal Church. The society holds Gaelic services from time to time. See the Gaelic page on the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles website for more information.

Kirk Walk

Inverkeithing Parish Church invites us to join them once a month for a walk in the country.

See also St. Serf’s News and Walks, on St. Serf’s website, for more walks.

Traidcraft

There is a Traidcraft stall in the church. The stall is open on the last Sunday of each month, immediately before and after the service.

Traidcraft pioneers the development of fair trade.

We also stock Eswatini Swazi Kitchen chutneys and jams. Eswatini helps to generate income for the Manzini Youth Care project.

The Mission to Seafarers

The Mission to Seafarers is a voluntary society of the Anglican Communion. It provides a chaplaincy service to seafarers in some 300 ports around the world. In over 100 ports it runs seafarers centres, many of them in partnership with other churches.

One of us knits balaclavas, scarves and gloves, which the Mission distributes to needy seafarers. Knit for Seafarers patterns are available on the Mission’s website, if you want to help.

Vestry

The vestry meets 4 or 5 times a year to discuss developments and maintenance of the church building and garden.

The vestry is elected from and by church members at the annual general meeting. The vestry may, if required, co-opt new members during the year, to be confirmed at the subsequent annual general meeting.

Church members who are not on the vestry may attend meetings if they wish.

Organizations

Here are some of the organizations in which our church members are involved.

ABI Singers

The ABI Singers is a choir specializing in church music.

The choir is based in Burntisland, at the Episcopal church there (St. Serf’s). It includes singers from our church, the Episcopal church in Burntisland, the Parish Church in Inverkeithing and from elsewhere.

The choir sings in churches in the area and sometimes at the cathedral in Perth or in Edinburgh.

Mothers’ Union

Although we do not have a Mothers’ Union (MU) branch based in our church some of us are members of the MU on an individual basis.

We take part in diocesan and provincial events and projects.

Mothers’ Union members give their time to help others, whether by running local projects, supporting international campaigns or fundraising.

Christian Aid

Some of us help with Christian Aid Week.

During Christian Aid Week church members from various Christian denominations collect round the doors for the poor.

Christian Aid Week begins on the second Sunday in May.

Hospital Chaplaincy

Assist the hospital chaplain by bringing patients to the hospital chapel for Sunday service.
